Joshua had quite a group cheering him on at the bee. Grandma Pot Pie, Grandma and Papa Jordan, Uncle William, Aunt Chrystal, his cousins Christopher and Cayley, Mom, Dad, Sarah and two teachers! Here is Cayley and Joshua after the bee. Posted by Picasa

Joshua did great and we are sooo proud of him. He made it through the first round and finished in the top 30. Only 15 made it through the second round and unfortunately, he was not one of them. He did however learn a great deal, had a wonderful time, picked up a nice gift bag and has five more years to participate if he chooses to try again. Posted by Picasa

The 54 kids in the competition were ages ten to fifteen and all won a school spelling bee in the area. Posted by Picasa

Last week Joshua represented Palmetto Bays Elementary School in the regional spelling bee. Here is a shot of Joshua and Debbie right after he realized that he was now spelling in the big time! Posted by Picasa

We found out this month that Spanky has terrible arthritis in his hips. The worst part is he can no longer chase cats. Lucky for him, he has no problem doing what he does best - lay around the house.  Posted by Picasa

Joshua recently completed another successful basketball season. His team, the Georgetown Hoyas, finished with five wins and two losses. This year Joshua played in the fifth and sixth grade league. The improvement these boys have made since they began playing team ball in first grade is impressive. Congratulations Joshua! We are proud of you. Posted by Picasa

Yesterday we celebrated Sarah's eighth birthday. In the afternoon we took a group of girls to the movie Nanny McPhie. Later, we all gathered at the house with Papa Dave, Grandma Mary, Unclie William, (soon to be) Aunt Kim, Aunt Chrystal, Joshua and other assorted friends for dinner, cake and ice cream. Five girls then spent the night with Sarah. Here are a few pictures from a big day! Posted by Picasa

Sarah turns eight this weekend!

We have a big weekend planned to celebrate Sarah's eighth birthday (half way to driving!). We are hauling a group of girls to a movie tomorrow afternoon after which we will have a few more people over to the house for cake and ice cream. Then five or six girls are spending the night (I think Joshua is going to escape to his friends house across the street). Please stop by on Sunday to see all of the photos of the BIG event.

Here are a few pictures of Sarah from years past.
